Buy Jordanian Dinars (JOD) before your trip to Jordan
Planning a trip to Jordan? Jordan dazzles with colours, promises a one-of-a-kind experience, and welcomes you with its renowned hospitality. The country’s ancient cities coexist with modern infrastructure, and its landscapes are truly breathtaking. Given its level of modernity, you may assume you can pay for everything using your credit or debit card. While this will be possible in many places, it won’t be the case everywhere. Some remote yet must-see locations known for their stunning scenery will require you to have cash on hand. That’s why it’s wise to exchange your euros into Jordanian dinars (JOD) before travelling. The EUR to JOD conversion is quick and easy at all our currency exchange offices.
Budgeting for Jordan
Tipping is left to the discretion of tourists, but it is appreciated by restaurant servers, taxi drivers and tour guides.
60 JOD is roughly what you’ll pay per person for a 3-star hotel including two meals and a public transport ticket.
For a quick bite in Jordan’s colourful streets, expect to spend around 5 JOD, while a good meal in a mid-range restaurant will cost about 20 JOD.

Suggestions for your stay in Jordan
Top places to visit during your stay include Amman, the Dead Sea, Jerash, Madaba, Wadi Mujib, Aqaba, the Desert Castles, Mount Nebo and the King’s Highway.
Temperatures range from 17°C in winter to 28°C in summer. The best times to visit Jordan are spring and autumn.
If you’re seeking warmth and relaxation, we recommend these beaches: though it’s a paid-entry beach, Amman Beach is worth it, as are South Beach, Al-Ghandour and Tala Bay.
A visit to Petra is a must, entering via the Siq gorge. At night, the site is often lit with thousands of candles, accompanied by traditional Bedouin music for a truly magical experience.
The Dead Sea is another unmissable highlight. Along its shores, you’ll find many wellness centres to help you unwind during your trip.
